The Gibson Les Paul was the first solid body electric from the Gibson guitar company. Following the trend that Fender had started with its own solid bodies, the Les Paul featured a solid body and a glued in neck. Gibson still brought its high quality craftsmanship to the guitar and also included a carved maple top and hum-bucking pickups.
• Single cut away body with carved maple top
• 2 hum-bucking pickups
• Glued in (set) neck
• Jimmy Page
• Peter Green
• Pete Townsend
• Gary Moore
Les Paul’s are known for their sustain. They feature 2 hum-bucking pickups which produce a higher output to fenders single coils, creating a thicker sound.
